Police: Thief makes off with six rifles, a shotgun and a trombone

So, is the thief a well-armed, one-man band or a highly musical, one-man army?

According to the Seattle Police Department, someone broke into a storage unit at a business in the 11500 block of Aurora Avenue North Oct. 29 and made off with six rifles, one shotgun and a brass trombone.

My initial thought was that the trombone had been in a case that looked similar to the gun cases. But, no. According to the police report for the incident, all seven guns were in cases but the trombone was case-less.

The contents of the storage unit could not be seen from the outside, but the man who rents out the unit couldn’t think of anyone who would have taken the guns or knew he had them in there, according to the report.

The value of the stolen items is estimated at $3,400. The responding officer advised the man to check out Aurora pawnshops for his missing guns and trombone.
